MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS
FuteBola Sport - Centro de Futebol from Portugal together with partners Club for Youth Empowerment 018 from Serbia, Beyond Borders Italy from Italy, and Barcel'hona Sports Events from Spain, implements the “Mental Health Matters” project in the field of sport to promote the importance of mental health hygiene while raising awareness about mental health issues affecting men in competitive and professional sports.
The project consortium consists of youth and sports organizations aiming to combine different approaches and expertise so that more attention and visibility is given to the topic of men’s mental health, especially focusing on male athletes.
Project objectives are:
- To develop new methodologies for sports workers to promote mental health and well being among young men and boys,
- To train 20 coaches and other sports workers in the field of mental health protection,
- To create more opportunities for public dialogue on mental health issues among men in competitive sports,
- To raise awareness about the importance of mental health protection among male athletes.
The project is implemented in Portugal, Serbia, Italy, and Spain between 01.11.2024 – 31.10.2025 and is co-funded by the EU.
